A walk in the park

Hare: Passiona/Leapfrog
On On: North Ledge, Mundaring Weir

Threat of drizzle started us off, with three runners and the Hare seemingly low on companionship, but high on spirit! (not spirits). It might of been my innate knowledge of the land, or my keen ability to second-guess the Hare’s intentions, or maybe even a tiny ouija board hidden in my undershorts used to surreptitiously gain run information from nearby expired souls, because I managed to check in the right direction for much of the run.  Then I tired and walked Home with Frodo.

The rain held off for the entirety of the run, and continued to threaten and drip-drop intermittently after the run, as we huddled boldly around the warming fire.

Free Beer performed an impressive athletic dive onto the dirt to avoid a sudden leaf-fuelled flare up of the flames. Pea Soup did not forthcome, but instead we had delightful treats in a variety of dippy things and breads to be dipped, none of which I have had the pleasure of encountering (except bread, I have tried that on occasion).

Then it got dark and I left.

Little Lord Fauntleroy Street

Hare: Downhill
On On: Garvey Park, Ascot

I was nearly delirious by the end of the run (side effect of being slack for numerous weeks) and thought I was back in China when I passed the old Chinese lady in the park doing olden-days Chinese dancing.  But no, it was real, so I was not in need of urgent medical attention.  Only beer.

Speaking of beer, a search vehicle went out scouting for Free Beer, left behind long ago during the run, then lo and behold, she steps from the verge up to beside us, having made her own way back.

A solid run. I liked the curly bush parts (keep it clean!) more than the long, painful, dreadful, nasty-Hobbitses long trek home along the highway, but alas, such is Hash. A beer at the end quickly washed away those disturbing memories.

Sand and Dessert ! (A play on words)

Hare: Free Beer
On On: Swan View

Well, well, well ! Quite a decent group congregated in a very public place where Free Beer went through the motions (hindered by Skimpy) of explaining the run for runners and walkers ! Then in a split second we were off with the newly names TRAINWRECK mentioning that we were off at the dot of 4pm ! So far, so good ! The emerging wildflowers were just emerging and of quite a consternation for Tickhead and Pink Bits as the names escaped them…a bit like the runners ! The weather stayed fine and apart fom a little drizzle here and there (*Oh toughen up you wet ones !) we returned in about 50 mins. Not so the runners who had to really struggle through the sandy paths (bugger) and came back panting red faced and …well…buggered ! Tired that is !

Then to a surpriseed gathering there was YET ANOTHER naming ! This time young person who looked at his iPad too much was named * I PADIUS*  It will live with him for ever as a fond memory !( We all love our Hash names ! ?) So then we had a birthday moment with some sponge and cream cake for Pickup Chick and a SURPRISE visit from DOSH ! Was as if she had never gone ! Love ya Gal !

I think everyone left eventually or at least went for a lie down in the nearby bushland cemetary !

Good run Free Beer !

Hacker away

Just a quick note: I am away for about a week…so hopefully should be back before we run out of run info on the web.

Any enquiries for run info to Dripper.
