Where Are You Scooby Doo …? REVISITED

As the weather closed in and rain was imminent, the new GM and RA appeared just in time. I think the RA was hoping to appease the Rain Gods but it wasn’t really working. The Hare, GPS, gave some quick instructions as walkers and runners set off in their respective directions.

AND THEN THE RAIN CAME DOWN…..

Runners sped off quick smart and walkers put up their brolly’s and braved the wind and rain (tough lot !) but not all as a few were reluctant to get drenched so hung about with random people sheltering under the meagre railway awning.

Eventually, we all went for a bit of a walk and caught up with returning walkers. Very funny really as it was such a short walk we were back in 30 minutes. Runners were out a little bit longer but some trail had washed out so GPS was herding the pack like a mother – hen ! Sweet ….

It was with some cobnsternation that we waited for 2 missing runners, 3 if you count GPS arriving via a short cut ….AHA …..He DOES deserve the SCB Trophy ! Still no sign of Scooby and a visiting Hasher but everyone swore they saw them arriving at the station at the back of the pack !????

After a serious discussion re:Occ Health & Safety, we carried on with the circle where there were lots of down-downs  from the new RA as well as name badges given out to very excited littles ! There had been cake for Sheep Shunters birthday so obviously he had a down-down as well !

We then finished and thought about leaving the lost Hashers to their fate (being mauled by small rodents, having wet dangly bits of bush slithering over them !) but some of us stayed and we sent GPS off on his bike to look for them. At exactly that time they returned, safe and sound having just been on a tourist trek ! (Lecture about safety was given but apparently they did tell someone ! …Next time tell someone who is not deaf ! ! !)

Oh it was a good run really and a few of us had a super HOT curry later …. Certainly warmed the cockles …..YUUUMMMMMM !

Dress up next week to celebrate Drippers 600th run !

Out With The Old – In With The New ! (or The All Aldi Run !)

On a very pleasant afternoon, we gathered at the chosen venue for our *annual meeting held each year*

The Hare’s set a short but sweet run meandering through orchards, paddocks and laneways. It was indeed short and we were back in no time at all, ready to get into the celebrations and frivolities of this annual event held annually !

There was a bit of a circle with the run being voted as good by both runners and walkers. Then a few random charges, such as new faces, no Hash gear and other minimal stuff.

Then the formalities began in earnest with awards given to deserving (or not) Hashers and then ……. Taa   Daa ! …..  Election of the NEW  CUMMITTEE …. Hmph ….

So, then it was all over ……. You know … just like that …!

Who is the new committee you ask  … ?

Oh My … What a Great Run !

In usual style, P M managed to set one of those great, well organised runs !

From a venue well known to us all, (some might say too often lately !) we were informed that the start was as flat as any Hills Hash run could be in the area OF HILLS !!! ….

Bless him … he did his best to herd the pack on – on with promises of trail to suit everyone…. Walkers had little dinky W’s and runners the usual blobs of flour.

It was a very well marked trail, so well marked that some of the walkers felt they could veer off to a private house for a beverage or two, not realising that they missed a significant loop (not so clever really eh !???) back to the start.

The runners enjoyed themselves galloping gallantly up and down hills… (no wait, … no hills here !) Injuries were either non-existant or very well hidden.

Gathering round the tinyest fire known to man, everyone returned safe and sound and gathered themselves ….. In the circle, which was unremarkable, short and with only a few down-downs as we ran out quickly (due to errant walkers !) the run was judged as outstanding….

Next week is the Meeting Held Annually Every Year so look forward to much merriment and intruige as the new committee is voted in and coveted awards are given out to deserving Hashers.

Franger’s run last Sunday.

A surprisingly large group of runners and walkers turned up at the Glen Forest Tennis club on a pretty cold afternoon.

After some vague directions to the walkers, they headed off to the South, while the runners headed off in the opposite direction. Within seconds, the runners were almost back to the start again. This set the tone for the rest of the run, constantly looping back and forth, not to mention, up and down.

A long hard run with lots of false trails and a somewhat confusing end, not many saw the “On Home”.

In the circle we farewelled Pickup Chick and Lady Ga Ga for a few years in Karratha, apparently Tick Head and Piping Hot had already left to get out of the cold.

Leapfrog was fined for listing to the footy during the circle (Freo lost, again!).

The General meeting held annually is at Passiona and Leap Frog’s place on Sunday the 16th of July. Run and walk at the normal time followed by Nosh.

On On Passiona

We had a good turn out as we crammed our vehicles into the tightest of parking areas, After a bit of re-arranging and car tango …. we were advised by the Hare that the trail was marked for both runners and walkers and it was ! It was a lovely afternoon and we tracked around the local bushland with mostly level ground The hilly bit was at the end which was not much fun but no-one got lost. The runners and walkers arrived back about the same time. In the circle it was deemed a very good run/walk and PM was given the obligatory down-down. Other charges were un-remarkable and as it started to get really chilly, we closed the circle and went home ! Remember to ** return all trophies ** as soon as possible and leave with SKIPPY ! *** Meeting we have annually will be on 16 July *** PB x
