Run report: July 29

Run #1564
Hare: Mrs Wobbly
On-on: Coles lower carpark, Mundaring

It was of course our annual truffle run so we were all decked out in frog affair, mostly thanks to Leapfrogs bottomless bag of tricks (i.e. a ton of berets!). Some people did make an effort and dress up, so well done folks.

Mrs Wobbly set a corker of a run.   While Effigy (un)assisted the pack and did his best to give us shonky directions, we proudly found our way along the trail.  It was quite a cunning affair, looping back a few times and suitably confusing the front-runners (not that it takes much to accomplish that).  It was nice to get on the western side of Stoneville Rd for the tail end of the run–a  spot I personally haven’t run before–and especially good as I stumbled onto the on-home and just had to stand and wait for most everyone else to catch up.

Walkers came in well after the runners, apparently after being led astray by the directions of a seven year old… No other feedback from them, so assumed all went well.

Hash treats were provided after the run, thank you very much, treat-providers all and sundry.  Ben and Lisa officially received their Hash Handles of “Frodo” and “Toe Stumbler” respectively. (Actually, I think I’m mistaken on that second one…anyone care to correct me?) Ben/Frodo did a ripper job downing his ginger beer (I think he’s been watching us too closely, which is a bit of a worry), while Lisa/the-other-one stood there like a dazed deer and was probably still thinking about which biscuits she wanted to shove in her mouth.

Baby Dosh (handle?) made an appearance, much to the delight of the crowd (Jessie was rather obsessed by her), but was upset by some of the circle ruckus.  (Shame, hashers!)

That’s about it.

On-on.
El Keeno

Here’s an attempt to show the run in Google Maps.  I’m stuffed if I can get rid of all those markers…but you can kind of make it out.

And i think its worth mentioning the “Monks Thingy of Terror” raised its ugly head again and caused 2 down-downs for Skimpy (really strange that) and one for your good self Mr Keeno.

Ah, yes. I forgot to mention the THINGY OF TERROR! It was quite terrible, as you say 😉

I just noticed my fancy-pancy google-maps run is not even of mundaring, but of some old run down towards the weir…oh well. Enjoy that instead. (Damn you, technology!)
